Cobh Rescue Horses (CRH) is a volunteer run group, set up in June 2016 with the aim of rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing equines in Ireland.
CRH is Registered Charity (Charity Registration Number 20205363). We started caring for abused and neglected animals in February 2016.
Our purpose is to assist neglected, abandoned, abused and sick horses that come into our care, with the aim of moving them on to a new permanent home, through adoption or fostering. We can care for up to 15 horses/ponies at any one time.
When the animals arrive to us, they are assessed and depending on their condition, we will call the vet immediately, or within a day or two. An Entry Sheet will be fill in and they will be given a CRH number. They are put into quarantine for 2 – 3 weeks, depending on their condition. They will be visited by the vet, who will mark them for their passport and insert a microchip if they don’t have one. They are all fully vaccinated, and wormed and receive regular veterinary, foot and dental care.
We are financed by fund raising and private donations.
